How billing works
Who needs a paid license?
Anyone who starts a translation needs a personal translator license. A reviewer can join a workspace, read assigned files, and review for free. If they need to submit a job, they need their own license or an owner-sponsored license.
Can an owner pay for another translator?
Yes. A workspace owner can sponsor a named translator, or that person can buy their own license. A personal license can be used across workspaces.
What counts against my allowance?
Each source-to-target translation uses one monthly file allowance and its extracted translatable source characters, including spaces and punctuation. A second target language counts again. Failed jobs, infrastructure retries, and review corrections do not count.
What if I reach a limit?
A new translation is rejected if it would exceed your personal character or file allowance. You can upgrade or wait for the next monthly reset. There are no automatic overages.
Do unused allowances roll over?
No. Character and file allowances reset each month on your subscription anniversary, even when you pay yearly. Unused allowances do not roll over.
What is included in the trial?
Each person can try translating for 14 days and up to 30,000 source characters with unlimited translated files and no card. The trial is tracked in the portal and does not create a Stripe subscription.
How many glossaries can a workspace have?
The workspace shares 1 glossary on Trial or Light, 3 on Base, and unlimited glossaries on Scale. The highest active translator seat sets the workspace limit. Each glossary has translated terms and its own do-not-translate list, and you can choose one glossary or none for a translation. There is no glossary-term cap.
