How the model works

What counts as an editor versus a reviewer?

Editors upload files and run translations. Reviewers open assigned files, edit and approve translations, and cannot start new translation jobs. Both are unlimited on every plan.

Why are reviewers free?

Because charging for them slows the work down. Approval is where translation actually gets stuck, and rationing seats to save money makes that worse. Invite every approver the work needs.

How do projects work inside a workspace?

Each subscription covers one workspace, and within it you can create unlimited projects to separate teams, products, clients, regions, or content streams, with files organised beneath them.

What happens when we run out of words?

A job already in progress finishes. If it takes the workspace past its remaining words, the completed translation stays locked until you add capacity - either by upgrading or by buying additional 1,000-word packs at your plan's rate. Nothing is lost and nothing is re-run; the file unlocks as soon as capacity is available. Enterprise follows the overage terms in its Order Form.

Do unused words roll over?

No. Allowances reset each period, monthly or annually depending on your billing.

Is annual actually cheaper?

Yes. Annual billing gives two months free and 4% more words, which works out to 20% less per translated word than monthly.

When does billing start?

The free trial takes no card. Light and Base monthly activate through checkout, Base yearly is invoiced by ACH, and Enterprise begins after a sales conversation and a signed agreement.

Can we change plans later?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

We need separate environments for several subsidiaries or clients: What does that take?

Each subscription covers one workspace, and unlimited projects separate work inside it. Where you need isolation beyond the project level, separate environments are scoped in an Enterprise agreement.

How does SpectrHQ protect our documents?

Your content is processed only on infrastructure we operate and control, is never sent to any third-party AI service, and is never used to train shared models. Read the security overview
